With COVID-19 cases and test positivity rates rising in Central Florida, Disney World will reopen its theme parks on July 11.
The ride will be rethemed to 2009's "The Princess and the Frog," though it will reopen in its current form at Magic Kingdom next month.
Theme park reservations will become available on June 22 for guests staying at a Disney World hotel.
Disney said it has yet to decide whether to cancel Magic Kingdom's other big seasonal event, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
Disney says the cancellations are necessary because of the capacity restrictions aimed at limiting the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The reopening will start with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11.
42-year-old Richard McGuire reportedly told police that he was unaware the island, closed since 1999, was off limits to the public.
