Universal Orlando’s third theme park, Epic Universe, will officially open on May 22, 2025, Universal announced Thursday.
The long-awaited reveal of the opening date also answers questions about how you’ll be able to buy tickets for the new park.
Ticket packages for Epic Universe will launch in phases, beginning with the sale of multi-day tickets and vacation packages on Oct. 22. Those include three-, four-, and five-day tickets will include multiple days of access to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, but only one day of admission to Epic Universe.
The only price that Universal made available was for a three-day ticket, costing between $352 and $521 total, plus tax, with the exact cost varying based on the exact date of your visit.
You can also purchase a vacation package of two nights or more that includes a stay at one of Universal’s 11 on-site hotels — including three new properties located in and around Epic Universe — that will also include a separate day of admission to Epic Universe.

The lands of Epic Universe (Universal)
Access to Epic Universe will not be included with existing Universal Orlando annual passes when the new park opens. Passholders will get the first crack at buying single-day tickets to Epic Universe beginning Oct. 24. Universal said that, “Additional ticket products for Epic Universe – including single-day tickets for the general public, additional multi-day ticket options, Florida resident tickets, Universal Express passes and more – will be available at a later date before the park opens.”
Universal’s press release did not mention any preview or technical rehearsal period for Epic Universe. After the historic headaches of Universal Studios Florida’s 1990 opening, Universal Orlando’s last theme park, Islands of Adventure, went through a two-month soft opening period before it officially debuted in late May 1999.
Epic Universe will feature five themed lands and 11 new rides, along with two major stage shows. As Theme Park Tribune has previously covered, the lands are themed after Nintendo properties, Universal’s classic monster movies, the “How to Train Your Dragon” franchise, and an expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The fifth land is the park’s space-themed hub, Celestial Park.
The park will also feature Universal’s first hotel with a dedicated theme park entrance, the 500-room Helios Grand Hotel. Reservations for Helios Grand will be available to purchase starting on Oct. 22 for stays on May 22, 2025.
