Universal Orlando has released new images showing off an expanded presence for the “Minions” and “Despicable Me” franchise at Universal Studios Florida.
A large chunk of the park’s Production Central will be rechristened Minion Land this summer. Along with the existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, the land will include the upcoming Villain-Con Minion Blast attraction, housed in one of the theaters used by Shrek 4-D up until January 2022.

Minion Cafe (Universal)
What was once the Classic Monsters Cafe will become Minion Cafe. This quick-service dining location will be split into multiple themed rooms (called the Kitchen, the Breakroom, and the Dining Room) themed around Gru’s minions.

Steak and “Cheese Ray” Sandwich (Universal)
The menu will include “nearly 20 items inspired by memorable characters and staples from the ‘Minions’ franchise,” according to Universal, including the Steak & “Cheese Ray” Sandwich and Otto’s Noddle Bowl.

Bake My Day (Universal)
But that’s not the end of the new land’s food options. Next door to Minion Cafe will be Bake My Day, a sweets shop adorned with a giant, Minion-topped cupcake.
Just around the corner from Bake My Day will be the Illumination Theater, a new meet-and-greet location for “Minions,” “Despicable Me” and “Sing,” another Illumination animated film franchise. The land will also feature two smaller food stands: Pop-A-Nana, specializing in flavored popcorn, and Freeze Ray Pops, which will sell popsicles.
No specific opening date was offered beyond “this summer.” The land, and its new ride, will be the first major addition to the Universal Orlando Resort since Jurassic World VelociCoaster opened two years ago.
