Universal Orlando Resort has set a May 25th opening date for its newest water park, Volcano Bay.
The theme park has been selling tickets for the 30-acre water park since November. Drivers on Interstate 4 have watched as the 200-foot-tall volcano near the Kirkman Road exit nears completion.
A combination roller coaster and aqua adventure called Krakatau Aqua Coaster is the main attraction. Guests will board canoes that use linear induction motor technology to propel them through the volcano’s interior peaks and valleys.
The attraction also includes Tot Tiki Reef, Kopiko Wai Winding River, Ko’okiri Body Plunge, Punga Racers and Kala & Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides.
Volcano Bay will introduce TapuTapu wearable technology that will allow guests to avoid waiting in long lines. It will also trigger special effects throughout the water park.
Universal is selling a three-park, multiday ticket to Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios and Volcano Bay for $244.99 for adults and $234.99 for children.
