Visit Orlando is pumping more of its advertising dollars into luring domestic travelers to Central Florida.

Most of the ad dollars were spent in New York City, the top market for Orlando. Visit Orlando quadrupled its outdoor placements from 339 to 1,405, which includes more billboards, bus wraps and ads on commuter trains.

Compelling outdoor advertising that drives awareness and intent to visit Orlando is particularly effective in these cold-weather markets during the chilly winter months,” Visit Orlando spokeswoman Becca Bides told the Orlando Sentinel.

Bides added that the domestic ads were added to help increase visits in what is expected to be a downturn in international visitors.

Buses in New York and Philadelphia are wrapped with Visit Orlando advertising. One bus wrap features a girl holding a Minnie Mouse doll. Another highlights the Orlando Eye.
