Universal Orlando announced today they will add a new nighttime lagoon show to replace Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular – 100 Years of Movie Memories.
The movie spectacular, which debuted in 2012, closed at the end of the summer for its fall downtime during Halloween Horror Nights and will not reopen.
Hurricane Irma damaged some of the show’s equipment, according to theme park insiders.
The lagoon show will include new animation featuring characters from Universal attractions, a new storyline, music, lighting and special effects, according to the company’s press release.
“This is one of many new experiences coming to Universal Orlando as we continue to grow our destination,” the release said.
Universal will unveil its holiday-themed projection light show Nov. 18 on Hogwarts Castle in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
