Universal Orlando’s upcoming Epic Universe theme park will feature lands dedicated to “How to Train Your Dragon,” the Ministry of Magic from “Harry Potter,” and its classic monster movies, the resort revealed Tuesday.
Along with the previously-announced Super Nintendo World, each of those lands will be entered “through a set of majestic portals” branching off from the park’s astronomy-themed hub, Celestial Park. Universal released new renderings showing off each entrance to those four lands:
The announcement confirms many details that were reported on years ago by Alicia Stella of Orlando Park Stop, who has consistently broken major scoops on upcoming Universal projects — including reporting on this exact lineup of intellectual properties more than four years ago.
Tuesday’s press release was largely focused on Celestial Park. The hub will actually have two of its own rides: Starfall Racers, a dueling launch coaster that Universal says will hit a top speed of 62 mph along its 5,000 feet of track, and Constellation Carousel, where the horses are replaced by “constellations that glide forward, backward – and even make 360-degree rotations,” according to the release.
Restaurants in Celestial Park include The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant, the BBQ-serving Oak & Star Tavern, a full-service surf-and-turf eatery with a Victorian-style aquarium called Atlantic, and Pizza Moon. For shopping, there will be a Nintendo-focused Super Star Store.
At the opposite end of Celestial Park from the park’s main entrance, you’ll find large fountain space just in front of the 500-room Universal Helios Grand Hotel.
Universal also posted an animated fly-through of the Celestial Park.
With Epic Universe set to open in 2025, Universal has stepped up the pace of its reveals, including last November’s leaks for the new Stella Nova and Terra Luna resorts. Universal ended its press release by saying more details on Epic Universe would come in the months ahead, including the debut of a new preview center for the park coming to Universal CityWalk later in 2024.
