A 60-year-old technician died early Tuesday while working on a ride at Universal Orlando.
The man, who has not been identified, was found without a pulse in the rafters of the Men In Black: Alien Attack ride, according to Ashley Papagni, public information manager for the Orlando Fire Department.
Firefighters were called to the park at 2:23 a.m. The patient was treated with advanced life support and transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital, she said.
Universal Spokesman Tom Schroder said that they are not going to speculate about what happened, but it had nothing to do with ride safety.
“This is sad news for all of us and we will do everything we can to take care of his family and our team members,” said Schroder in a statement released Tuesday afternoon. “We are working to fully understand what happened and we will cooperate with all relevant authorities.”
