Universal Orlando is getting a new roller coaster in 2027: Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift.
Universal said in a press release announcing the upcoming ride, “Riders will experience the exhilarating sensation of 360-degree drifting as they speed through jaw-dropping maneuvers – including a 170-foot vertical “spike’ that will send riders nearly 17 stories in the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk.”
The announcement didn’t come with any renderings or concept art of the new ride. The coaster will be built in the spot in Universal Studios Florida once occupied by Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit before that ride’s demolition in 2025.
That won’t be the only change to Universal’s ride lineup in 2027. Along with the new coaster, the park will permanently close the maligned Fast & Furious: Supercharged that same year — less than a decade after it debuted.
Universal Studios Hollywood is getting its own Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster later this year. While the two rides will share a name, Universal said the West Coast attraction will be “one-of-a-kind.”
