Large concerts are coming back to Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras in 2022.
After being axed in 2021 to allow for physical distancing between guests, national acts will once again grace the Music Plaza Stage at Universal Studios Florida on select nights.

Diana Ross and Marshmello were both scheduled to play at the 2020 event before COVID-19 forced cancellations and, after March 15 of that year, the temporary closure of the resort.
The theme for the returning parade was also announced as “Planet Mardi Gras.” Universal described it as “six incredibly-detailed floats that fuse Mardi Gras flare with cosmic-inspired elements like comets, rockets, martians and more – inviting guests to catch beads by the handful.”
Mardi Gras will also feature another Universal Tribute Store installation called “Float Factory Warehouse,” dedicated to the process behind creating a parade float.
Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras is currently scheduled to run from Feb. 5 through April 24, 2022. If 2021 is any indication, more dates may be added, as Universal extended the last event several times before wrapping up festivities in May.
