Universal Orlando announced it would begin taking reservations early next year for its newest hotel, which is scheduled to open in a year and a half.

Aventura Hotel will offer panoramic views of Universal Orlando from its floor-to-ceiling windows when it opens in the summer of 2018. The 16-story glass tower will become the theme park’s sixth hotel — with 600 guest rooms, including 13 kids’ suites.

It will sit on six acres next to Sapphire Falls Resort and be within walking distance to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay — Universal’s water theme park scheduled to open next summer. The new addition will bring the total number of hotel rooms at Universal Orlando to 6,200 when combined with the 400-room expansion of Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, opening in 2017.

Loews Hotels & Resorts will run Aventura in partnership with Comcast NBC Universal. Reservations will be accepted in early 2017 but Universal has yet to release information on pricing.
