Universal’s Mardi Gras event has already started, but the resort is now offering some new perks for guests willing to pay extra.
“As part of this family-friendly version of the renowned Big Easy bash, guests can purchase new add-on experiences including an all-you-can-eat crawfish boil and a special dessert and Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration party with an exclusive parade viewing area,” Universal said in a press release.
The Bayou Boil package, costing $59.99 per adult and $39.99 per child, includes an all-you-can-eat spread of Louisiana specialties like crawfish, shrimp and, upon request, chicken and andouille sausage jambalaya. Guests will also get a special viewing area for the Mardi Gras parade along with desserts like king cake and beignets.
If you’re more interested in Universal entertainment than Cajun food, the Mardi Gras Parade, Desserts and Cinematic Viewing Experience offers exclusive viewing areas for both the parade and Universal’s Cinematic Celebration, along with samples of specialty desserts. This package will cost $49.99 per adult and $29.99 per child.
For foodies looking to sample more of the Mardi Gras menu, Universal will also offer “tasting lanyards” which allow guests a set number of dishes and drinks for a flat price starting at $30 plus tax per guest. Annual passholders have an exclusive lanyard which will include 15 sample dishes for $60 plus tax.
These add-ons won’t be available every night of Mardi Gras; the Bayou Boil will be offered on select weekend nights from Feb. 16 through March 31, while the Cinematic Viewing Experience will be available on select nights from March 13 through April 4. The perks are not included with regular admission to Universal Studios Florida, unlike much of the Mardi Gras festivities, including the nightly parade and the remaining lineup of concerts on the Music Plaza Stage:
— Feb. 16: Gavin DeGraw
— Feb. 17: Dan + Shay
— Feb. 23: Macklemore
— March 2: TBA
— March 9: Becky G
— March 10: Sean Paul
— March 16: Steve Miller Band
— March 17: Ziggy Marley
— March 23: NF
— March 24: Pitbull
— March 30: Bazzi
— March 31: To be announced
Universal’s Mardi Gras will run daily at Universal Studios Florida through April 4.
