Universal Orlando’s CityWalk is getting a slight makeover with a returning store and a new burger option.
With Epic Universe now approaching its first birthday, the Epic Universe Preview Center will be closing on April 13. In its place will be a restored Universal Legacy Store.
Here’s how Universal described the store in its press release:
“The beloved Universal Legacy Store is set to return in late April with exclusive retro merchandise and photo opportunities inspired by iconic Universal Studios Florida attractions and films from Universal Pictures including E.T., Jaws, Back to the Future and Universal Monsters.”
First opening in 2021 in the space once occupied by the Universal Studios Store, the Legacy Store closed in early January 2024 to make way for the Epic Universe Preview Center, which opened three months later.
Several of the same movie properties mentioned above were featured in the original Legacy Store, but despite moving back into the same building, Universal didn’t say whether the exact same Legacy Store layout would return in its new incarnation.
A smaller change is coming to CityWalk’s fast-casual restaurant lineup, as the Burger King Whopper Bar will close on April 21 to make way for a new Five Guys location.
The BK Whopper Bar in CityWalk opened in 2009 as part of a limited-menu concept design that Burger King could use for smaller spaces, such as in airports.
