The Fast & Furious—Supercharged portion of Universal Hollywood’s Studio Tour will close on March 10, the theme park announced Monday.
Dom Terreto and company have been the final attraction on the Studio Tour since June 2015. The ride was ported over to Universal Studios Florida as a standalone attraction in April 2018 — where it was reviled by fans and largely labeled as one of Universal’s worst-ever attractions. (Thierry Coup, the former chief creative officer at Universal Creative, once said the biggest mistake of his career was not stopping executives from building the Florida ride.)
The Hollywood closure has been expected by theme park fans ever since Universal Hollywood began construction on a new ride themed around the same franchise, the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster, which is set to debut in 2026.
The Studio Tour’s last major change was the addition of a set from the Jordan Peele horror movie “Nope” in 2022.
As for what will serve as the Studio Tour’s new finale, Universal’s press release said only, “The closure of this attraction will pave the way for an exciting all-new Studio Tour attraction to be announced soon.”
