Horror classic “The Exorcist” will be one of the mazes at the 2021 edition of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, the park announced Thursday.

The 1973 film — the first horror film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture —  follows 12-year-old Regan, who has been possessed by a demon. The movie was last featured as a house at the Orlando and Hollywood HHN events in 2016.

Joining “The Exorcist” will be the first original HHN house announced in Hollywood. Called Curse of Pandora’s Box. the maze is inspired by Greek mythology.

“An ancient horror has returned to prey on those foolish enough to tempt the Fates with their curiosity and greed,” Universal said in its press release. “Enter Pandora’s Curiosity Shop, where her infamous box lies. Once it’s opened, all manner of evil will be unleashed.”

The two new house announcements bring the total HHN Hollywood lineup to five mazes — one more than initially appeared on the event’s website just a few weeks ago. Universal now says more mazes and scarezones will be revealed at a later date.

Universal Studios Hollywood will host Halloween Horror Nights on select nights from Sept. 9 through Halloween.
