Green Eggs and Ham at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure isn’t guaranteed to be around for long.

Orlando Rising sent questions to Universal about the Seuss Landing food stand when it unexpectedly reopened Dec. 1. Among them: will Green Eggs and Ham be a seasonal or permanent addition to the park’s dining options?

Universal’s response came from a spokesperson who declined to be named for this story: “Throughout the month of December, guests can enjoy the Green Eggs and Ham Cafe in Seuss Landing, where they can enjoy unique and exciting menu items such as Green Eggs & Ham Tots and Who Hash. The cafe will be open every day from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m,” the spokesperson said in an email.

Larger crowds around the holidays often lead to Universal (and other parks) opening seasonal dining locations to serve more guests. Seuss Landing also tends to be busier around this time of the year, thanks to special offerings for Grinchmas, including the “Grinchmas Who-Liday Spectacular” show and additional character meet-and-greets.

The same spokesperson confirmed two other details about the reopening. For one, the old Green Eggs and Ham sign will not be reinstalled. The sign sported dulled colors and chipped paint during an Orlando Rising visit to Islands of Adventure in March 2019.

The Universal spokesperson also confirmed the reopening has nothing to do with the new “Green Eggs and Ham” series on Netflix. The animated show is being produced by Warner Bros., not Universal.

The new menu at Green Eggs and Ham has ditched burgers and fries (and the Green Eggs and Hamwich) for choices like buffalo chicken tots and pizza tots — a twist on the seasonal pizza fries dish popular at Halloween Horror Nights.
