The final piece of track has been linked on Disney’s newest family coaster, Slinky Dog Dash, which debuts as one of Toy Story Land’s two new attractions next year.
The land will be filled with characters from Disney’s “Toy Story” movie, including Andy, Woody and Buzz when it opens in 2018 at Hollywood Studios.
Construction workers lowered the final piece of red track into place, capping off the ride.
Shannon Mashtrack, senior project manager, called the addition a milestone.
“Exciting times ahead and we’re goning to have our Slinky ride vehicle arriving here shortly soon,” said Mashtrack, who added the vehicle is being manufactured in Germany.
Visitors to Toy Story Land will shrink to the size of a toy and explore the world of Andy’s backyard. Slinky Dog Dash is a coaster track that Andy built in his backyard using his Mega Coaster Play Kit, according to the Disney blog.
The second attraction, Alien Swirling Saucers, is designed as a toy play set that Andy got from Pizza Planet, inspired by the first “Toy Story” film. Aliens fly around toy flying saucers and try to capture the rocket toy vehicles with “The Claw.”
