Two more dates for the Orlando edition of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights have been added after Hurricane Ian caused two event dates to be canceled.
The new HHN dates at Universal Studios Florida will be Tuesday, Oct. 11 and Monday, Oct. 24.
Universal Premier passholders who haven’t used their one free HHN admission benefit for the season can do so for the new dates. Both nights will also be included on all levels of the HHN Frequent Fear passes.
Disney World unions fail to reach agreement, extend contract through October
Disney and unions representing 41,000 Disney World workers have extended their current contact through the end of October as the two sides failed to reach an agreement in weekend talks.
Unite Here Local 737, a member of the Service Trades Council Union coalition, said Disney rejected their proposal of a $5 raise in hourly wages over the next three years, instead offering to spread the increase over five years. The union also said Disney declined all of the union’s demands “regarding pension, health insurance, guaranteed 40 hours, premiums and other important issues.”
The two sides are set to meet again on Oct. 10.
The same union coalition won a series of minimum wage increases in its 2018 contract with Disney.
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park holding first After Dark in the Park events
Colorado’s Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park will stay open three hours later on Oct. 22 and 29, offering late night rides at the mountaintop theme park.
On both dates, the park won’t close until 9 p.m. During those extra hours, guests will be able to ride attractions such as the new Defiance roller coaster and the Soaring Eagle Zip Ride. Lantern-lit tours of the caverns will also be available, harkening back to early cave tours.
All-day tickets will cost $67, while evening-only tickets will be available after 4 p.m. at a price of $57.
