The large gateway entrance signs signaling your arrival to Walt Disney World will be getting a slight refresh beginning Monday, Disney announced.

The new look is meant to match the color palette applied to Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom, as showcased in this concept art:

In addition to the World Drive sign, Disney also said the new color scheme will be added to the entrance to Magic Kingdom’s parking lot.

“These refreshed gateways will continue to set the tone for all the stories you’ll tell and the memories you’ll cherish long after your visit,” Jeremy Schoolfield, managing editor at Walt Disney World Resort public relations, wrote on the official Disney Parks Blog.

OC Register: The risks California sees in reopening theme parks

California’s theme parks continue to express their anger at the state’s stringent reopening guidelines that may see the industry remain shuttered well into 2021, calling the rules “arbitrary.”

But the state has provided reasons for why it believes the theme park should remain closed. As the Orange County Register summarized in a Monday article, among the seven issues identified by state health officials was the big crowds observed during a visit to Florida’s reopened theme parks.

“The level of mixing even without masks seemed very random and concerning to us,” said California health secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly. Even with restrictions on capacity throughout the park and on individual attractions, Ghlay said this level of mixing would make contact tracing very difficult.

Disneyland begins recalling workers for partial DCA reopening

In some better news for Disneyland fans, more than 200 employees may put back to work thanks to Disney California Adventure reopening Buena Vista Street for shopping and dining next month.

According to a message on the Facebook page of Workers United Local 50, the recalls began Monday with “trainers, leads, and some heart of house roles that will begin the process of getting the restaurants up and running.”

The limited reopening of DCA will not include any rides or attractions. Instead, Disney considers it an extension of Downtown Disney, with three shops reopening along with dining locations like Smokejumpers Grill and Carthay Circle Lounge.

There are currently no plans to open any part of Main Street USA inside Disneyland Park.
