Jed lightsaber tutorials, life size vehicles and the R2-D2 and Droid Builder Pavilion are just some of the attractions coming to Star Wars Celebration.

Thousands of “Star Wars” fans from around the world are expected to converge on the Orange County Convention Center April 13-16 to celebrate the pop culture phenomenon.

This is the third time Orlando has hosted the event that has attracted more than 30,000 people. Celebration V was held in Orlando in 2010 and Star Wars Celebration VI was here in 2012. The first Celebration was in Denver in 1999.

The event features exhibits, an interactive floor show, panel discussions, autograph sessions, costume contests, demonstrations and fan activities.

Celebrity guests include Star Wars icon Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca himself, Peter Mayhew.

The Celebration will include a cosplay championship and a Star Wars tattoo competition.

The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm for $4.06 billion in 2012 and earned the distribution rights to all subsequent Star Wars films, beginning with the release of “The Force Awakens” in 2015. Disney is opening two Star Wars lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2019.
