The third version of Epcot’s Test Track attraction will open on July 22.
Disney’s reveal of the attraction’s opening date came alongside some new details about the reimagined ride. It will have an all-new score, according to Disney, along with “new scenes that highlight technology making our cars smarter and our lives more fun.”
Disney showed off some new features in two Instagram posts. One went inside a scene filled with foliage representing the Pacific Northwest.

The other post showed a scene with “29,000 light nodes,” meant to demonstrate how modern vehicles use technology to detect their surroundings.

Disney said that there will be previews ahead of the July 22 opening for cast members, annual passholders, Disney Vacation Club and Club 33 members and residents of Golden Oak, but without providing any further details.
Test Track first debuted for previews at Epcot in late 1998 in its original form resembling an actual motor vehicle testing facility. It closed from April to December 2012 for its 2.0 redesign that appeared to take some cues from the “Tron” film franchise. That version of the ride closed last June to make way for this latest overhaul.
