Of all the descriptions Disney executives have used to hype Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, once I saw it for myself, all I could manage was silent, wide-eyed wonder.
Making matters worse for guests, ride operation was suspended several times due to rain and lightning in the area and by 5 p.m., the ride was listed as “at capacity.”
The early reviews are in for Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and the new storytelling coaster at Universal’s Islands of Adventure is drawing almost universal acclaim.
Instead, the ride will be the first in Islands of Adventure to offer Universal’s Virtual Line reservation system, beginning the day after its June 13 opening.
Set inside the Forbidden Forest, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will see guests riding in either Hagrid’s signature motorbike or the sidecar, hitting top speeds of 50 miles per hour.
The Hagrid animatronic will stand 7 feet 6 inches tall — his precise proportions in the films — and be capable of “24 different body movements and facial expressions.”
Special offerings will include "The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle" projection show and performances by Manheim Steamroller on select nights.
One-day tickets for the busiest days of the year will now cost $135 per adult, while multi-day tickets increased by $10 across the board.
