Disney parks chief Josh D'Amaro made announcements about upcoming attractions as well as the future of live entertainment to Disney World.
The layoffs will affect both Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort, with 67 percent of the affected workers being part-timers.
Under this plan, the resort’s theme parks, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure would reopen on July 17 — Disneyland’s 65th birthday.
Josh D'Amaro has been Walt Disney World's president since September 2019. Before that, he was president of the Disneyland Resort.
