“We are working to reopen the ride as soon as possible,” Universal said.
This is the second round of layoffs at the resort since it reopened in June.
The layoffs at Universal Orlando affected multiple business units, though the resort did not say how many workers were being let go.
The perks include dedicated parking and security lines for APs from June 8-July 5.
The team member preview was the first time the Universal parks had seen crowds in 77 days.
The reopening will start with a team member preview on June 1 before opening the theme parks to the general public on June 5.

“Other attractions may have had some hiccups during the rollout of a new attraction, but nothing at the magnitude of Hagrid's,” Touring Plans statistician Steve Bloom told Orlando Rising.
The Green Eggs and Ham Cafe at Universal's Islands of Adventure will stay open through December, but the old sign won't be reinstalled.
