Universal Studios Hollywood has narrowed the opening timeframe for its version of Super Nintendo World to “early 2023.”
The announcement came in a new promotional video that also revealed the name of the land’s only confirmed ride as Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.
Universal had previously said the land would open sometime in 2023. With construction progressing quickly in the park’s Lower Lot, unconfirmed rumors on Universal fan forums have suggested that the land could even begin soft openings after Halloween Horror Nights wraps up this November.
The Hollywood Super Nintendo World will be smaller than the original land at Universal Studios Japan, lacking the Yoshi’s Adventure omnimover ride and the under-construction Donkey Kong expansion.
Universal Orlando’s own Super Nintendo World will feature all three rides — Mario Kart, Yoshi’s Adventure and a Donkey Kong mine cart roller coaster — when it debuts as part of the new Epic Universe theme park in 2025.
