A Star Wars droid will join the lineup of character greetings this spring at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
BB-8 will appear in addition to Kylo Ren and Chewbacca, who have regular greetings at Star Wars Launch Bay. The skittish droid is the latest addition to capitalize on the popularity of the Star Wars series of movies.
The Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away daytime show features characters from around the Star Wars galaxy; while Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular lights up the park with an evening show. Children 4-12 can become Jedi recruits and battle villains like Darth Vader or the Seventh Sister Inquisitor. The park’s Star Tours – The Adventures Continue attraction offers guests an array of galactic destinations.
The attractions are all leading up to the opening of the new Star Wars-themed lands at Hollywood Studios and Disneyland in 2019. Construction began on both lands in 2016. The 14-acre land will be the largest single-themed expansion ever at a Disney park.
