Universal Studios Hollywood’s attempt to create a new after-hours event for the spring will include two big anime franchises: “One Piece” and “Jujutsu Kaisen.”
Universal’s Fan Fest Nights events are meant to offer something similar to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights — minus the scares — by offering limited-time experiences themed around franchises that are (with one exception) not otherwise represented by existing rides in Universal parks.

The latest press release didn’t say much in terms of specifics for the “One Piece” and “Jujutsu Kaisen” portions of the event, only saying that the experiences will be inspired by their respective anime series. Both properties have been featured at Universal Studios Japan’s annual “Cool Japan” promotion, which regularly includes limited-time offerings based around anime and manga.

No new details were mentioned for the previously-announced inclusion of the “Dungeons & Dragons,” “Harry Potter,” and “Back to the Future” franchises. For “Star Trek” fans, however, Universal announced that Fan Fest Nights will offer the chance to step on the bridge of the Enterprise-D, the ship featured in “The Next Generation” series and its more recent follow-up, “Star Trek: Picard.”
Universal said in its press release that “this exciting experience will boldly take guests on an immersive and thrilling adventure aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise-D where they will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step onto the bridge, an original set piece featured in the third and final season of ‘Star Trek: Picard.’”
Just like Halloween Horror Nights, some of the regular Universal Hollywood attractions will be open during Fan Fest Nights, including all of Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Jurassic World, Revenge of the Mummy and The Simpsons Ride.
Universal’s Fan Fest Nights are currently set for April 25-27, May 2-4, 9-11, and 16-18. Tickets are not yet available.
