The first-ever Thrill Glider coaster is coming to Six Flags Magic Mountain in 2026, according to permits filed with Los Angeles County.

The Thrill Glider is a new coaster model from Dutch manufacturer Vekoma which essentially combines a suspended coaster with a motorbike coaster — so riders will be seated in a straddle position in coaster trains hanging below the track.

The coaster model has never been built before or officially previewed by Vekoma, but the LA County permits that were approved Monday include blueprints calling the project both “Six Flags Thrill Glider Roller Coaster” and “Six Flags Vekoma Coaster.”

It may be hard to tell from the permit’s images, but the construction plans show how the new coaster site between the existing Full Throttle and Superman: Escape from Krypton coasters will be prepared.

Six Flags had previously announced that the Valencia, California park would be debuting a “first-of-its-kind coaster in North America” in 2026, without specifying what kind of coaster was going to be built.

Assuming that no other Magic Mountain coasters close — which isn’t a given, since Escape from Krypton has not operated since September — the Thrill Glider would be the park’s 21st coaster, protecting its world record for having the most coasters at any one amusement park.
