Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s newest attraction, Serengeti Flyer, will open Feb. 27.
The flat ride is a “screamin’ swing” attraction built by S&S – Sansei Technologies. The attraction features two arms with gondolas holding 10 riders that swing progressively higher, hitting a top speed of 68 miles per hour and a maximum height of 135 feet.
Passholders will have the first chance to Serengeti Flyer on Feb. 24 if they’ve satisfied the requirements of the park’s Passport for Thrills program and visited the park at least one time each in December, January, and February.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay told Theme Park Tribune in October that the ride will share the title of world’s tallest and fastest screamin’ swing with Tidal Surge at SeaWorld San Antonio, which opened in 2021.
Serengeti Flyer is the third S&S Screamin’ Swing added to a SeaWorld Entertainment park since 2019, following Tidal Surge and 2019’s Finnegan’s Flyer at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
Every Busch Gardens and SeaWorld park is set to open a new attraction this year. SeaWorld San Diego, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and SeaWorld Orlando are all opening new roller coasters next year, while SeaWorld San Antonio is adding the world’s first launched flume ride.
