2026 will see the SeaWorld chain get its third family inverted coaster in as many years, with the newest one going to SeaWorld San Antonio.

Called Barracuda Strike, the new coaster will have a 90-foot-tall lift hill and a top speed of 42 miles per hour over 1,800 feet of track. But in a feature unique to SeaWorld San Antonio, the coaster will go over the park’s water ski lake (and not under it, in case you’re taking the park’s promo image too literally.)

Like the other family inverts which came to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay in 2024 and Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2025, it will be designed by Swiss coaster firm Bolliger & Mabillard.

“Barracuda Strike is a game-changer for family thrill rides, and we are excited to bring another great roller coaster to our guests in the spring of 2026,” said Jeff Davis, SeaWorld San Antonio Park President. “It will be fast, fierce, and fun—bringing guests closer to the ocean’s energy and mystery in a way only SeaWorld can.”

Barracuda Strike will be the seventh coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio. The last addition was another family ride, Beach Rescue Racer, which opened in March.
