SeaWorld Orlando is throwing Sesame Street a birthday party to mark the show’s 50th anniversary.

The Sesame Street Birthday Party Celebration will run on Nov. 9 and 10. Special offerings for the weekend will include a new parade float to the 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. editions of the Sesame Street Land parade, with SeaWorld saying the float will be seen “for these two days only.”

Visitors can also grab a free mini-cupcake at Sesame Sips and take advantage of a 50 percent discount on all merchandise marking Sesame Street’s 50th anniversary.

SeaWorld is also telling guests to “show their love for their favorite furry friends by wearing an everyday outfit inspired by Sesame Street characters” — sort of Sesame Street version of ‘Disneybounding.’

The landmark children’s program debuted on public television stations on Nov. 10, 1969. More than 150 versions of the show are broadcast around the world in over 70 languages.

The franchise has long had a foot in the theme park world with the Sesame Place theme park in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia, which first opened in 1980. Under Sesame Street’s current licensing deal with SeaWorld, its theme park presence is expanding, with Sesame Street Land at SeaWorld Orlando opening earlier this year.

A second Sesame Place park is scheduled to open in Chula Vista, California in spring 2021, taking over the current Aquatica San Diego water park.
