An adult-oriented Halloween event is coming to SeaWorld Orlando this year, giving Universal Orlando some competition for horror and haunt fans.
SeaWorld announced Friday that starting Sept. 10, it will host a Howl-O-Scream — a separately-ticketed event like Halloween Horror Nights with haunted houses and scare zones throughout the park. In Florida, it’s typically associated with Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, though a version has also been held at SeaWorld San Antonio.
“With this addition, we become the only theme park in Orlando to offer both a daytime family-friendly Halloween and a nighttime horror Halloween for thrill seekers,” SeaWorld Orlando park president Kyle Miller said in a press release. “We are very excited to announce Howl-O-Scream today and look forward to sharing all of the amazing details of the event over the next few months.”
SeaWorld’s announcement did not specify how many houses, scare zones, or attractions will be available during Howl-O-Scream.
Single-night tickets start at $30 — or $25 for SeaWorld passholders — and guests can also buy a two-park ticket combining admission to Busch Gardens’ Howl-O-Scream event.
The event will run for 27 nights from Sept. 10 through Halloween. Many of those Howl-O-Scream nights will run head-to-head with the 2021 edition of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal, which starts a week earlier and has 42 event dates.
