Disney Springs will soon be home to a 10,000-square-foot Ron Jon Surf Shop location.
The beach-and-surf-themed retailer is no stranger to Central Florida, with existing stores at the Florida Mall and in the Terminal B shopping area at Orlando International Airport. It lost an Orlando location when the Artegon Marketplace shuttered in 2018.
In a press release, Ron Jon Surf Shop president and chief operating officer Debbie Harvey said the company chose to open a new shop at Disney Springs because of its “immense popularity” with vacationers and Orlando locals.
“We are thrilled to be planning a new Ron Jon store located at Disney Springs,” Harvey said. “This is an extremely popular shopping destination for local residents and the millions of visitors coming to the Orlando area, and we feel it’s the perfect location for a new Ron Jon Surf Shop.”
Disney said the shop will open in late 2019 next to the southern BBQ restaurant The Polite Pig.
The lineup of retail and dining options at Disney Springs will continue to grow in 2019. Among the big new additions will be The NBA Experience, an interactive, basketball-themed complex being built on what was long home to DisneyQuest. Inside the same building will be City Works Pour House & Eatery, a 8,632-square-foot restaurant with three full-service bars focused on classic American food.
