It’s always been a gamble staying in cheap hotels during my theme park travels — and sometimes it doesn’t pay off, even when I’ve stayed at the hotel before.
I previously stayed in the Santa Clarita Motel back in the summer of 2021. The simple, dirt-cheap accommodations along the railroad tracks near Six Flags Magic Mountain were all I needed after a late-night flight.
Fast forward to 2023, and I decided to stay there again to save money while traveling close to Presidents’ Day. After reading more positive reviews after a refurbishment, I came in with high expectations.
