Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure is reportedly getting a new store, according to unconfirmed reports and the appearance of construction walls around one of the land’s buildings.
The land currently relies on one store — WEB Suppliers — along with additional Marvel merch locations in other parts of the DCA.
As first reported by Mice Chat, the new retail space will be located inside the Avengers headquarters building. That structure is currently the stage and backdrop for some of the land’s live entertainment and character greetings, but the interior was intended for the entrance (and obligatory exit gift shop) for a still-unbuilt Avengers attraction.
Laughing Place reported Monday morning that construction walls have already gone up around a portion of the building. Disneyland did not respond to Theme Park Tribune’s request for comment on whether a new store is being built in the space.
Disney said at last September’s D23 Expo that a major Avengers attraction is still coming to the Disneyland Resort. That ride will feature a villain named King Thanos, an alternate version of the Marvel film archvillain “that won,” according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. However, no timetable for opening the new attraction has been announced.
