After being closed since August 2020, Poseidon’s Fury reopened without any advance notice at Universal Orlando.
The walkthrough attraction at Islands of Adventure closed along with the rest of the resort in March 2020, and only briefly returned in the early summer of that year before being shut down again. Visitors on its first day back said the attraction experience remained the same with no major upgrades, though it has clear that the attraction had received some TLC over the past few months.
Poseidon’s Fury is now open at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. All effects working, it is just as I remember, didn’t notice any upgrades or changes. Incredible that such an attraction was made so long ago. Really wish that they’d re-film or change up the cheesy ending graphics. pic.twitter.com/7X7c95NYyf

The attraction’s continued closure revived speculation about it being rethemed or demolished — which wouldn’t be a surprise, as it is the last attraction standing in The Lost Continent section of Islands of Adventure and is not themed to any movie or TV property. The most popular rumor was that the area could be transformed into a “Legend of Zelda” land.
