The new version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will open on May 26 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with a new Muppets theme and soundtrack.
Now officially called Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, the ride will have on-ride audio featuring Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, alongside some guest stars. Here’s the full soundtrack and the original artist:
- “Born to Be Wild” (originally by Steppenwolf) with Muppet character Camilla the Chicken
- “Love Rollercoaster” (originally by Ohio Players) with Jennifer Hudson and Questlove
- Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” (originally by Def Leppard) with Def Leppard
- “Song 2” (originally by Blur)
- “Walking on Sunshine” (originally by Katrina and The Waves) Kelly Clarkson
That isn’t a typo above – Electric Mayhem will be covering a Def Leppard song with some help from Def Leppard. Disney said on its official Disney Parks Blog that the band may have “been working on some bonus tracks,” suggesting there may be more songs that can pop up on the ride.
Before the ride, the new preshow will take place inside a recording studio – just like the original version with Aerosmith – only with penguins acting as audio engineers, alongside an animatronic of Scooter.
Disney said there will also be “celebrity cameos woven throughout the experience, starting in the queue and continuing all the way through the merch shop.” Those guest spots include everyone from actors John Stamos and Wayne Brady to “Weird Al” Yankovic and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.
The original version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster shut down on March 1, though the preshow was shuttered three months earlier to allow for extra construction time on that part of the experience. The Muppets-themed overhaul was first announced in November 2024 to soften the blow from MuppetVision 3D closing down to make way for a new “Monsters Inc.” land.
