Lost Island Theme Park is adding a new roller coaster in 2025 and bringing the first single-rail coaster to the Midwest.
The new coaster, named Fire Runner, was unveiled at an American Coaster Enthusiasts conference at the Waterloo, Iowa, park on Friday evening.

The coaster will be a single-rail Raptor model built by Rocky Mountain Construction, reportedly similar to the original two prototypes of the ride: RailBlazer at California’s Great America and Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
According to the stats provided by Lost Island, Fire Runner will be longer than those earlier Raptors (1,950 feet vs. 1,800 feet) but feature the same maximum speed (52 mph) and the same number of inversions (3).
This is the first new coaster installed at Lost Island since the park opened in 2022. In fact, it’s the first all-new coaster at the park ever, as its other three — Matugani, Nopuko Air Coaster and Lokolo — were all transplants from other parks.
