MuppetVision 3D will close at Disney’s Hollywood Studios after June 7, 2025, Disney announced Friday.

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will close a few weeks earlier than MuppetVision 3D on May 10. June 7 will also be the final day of operations for the PizzeRizzo dining location, meaning all of the current Muppet Courtyard will likely be walled off beginning on June 8.

MuppetVision 3D has been at the park since 1991 and holds the distinction of being the last Muppets project overseen by their creator, Jim Henson, before his sudden death in 1990. It’s 34-year run makes it the second longest-running film attraction in Walt Disney World’s history, beaten only by Epcot’s Impressions de France, which has been playing since that park opened in 1982.

Disney California Adventure had its own version of MuppetVision 3D which closed in 2014.

In November, Disney had confirmed rumors that the 3D film would shutter to make way for a new “Monsters Inc.”-themed land that had been revealed at last August’s D23 Expo.

As with its last announcement, Disney hinted at MuppetVision 3D’s future availability without offering specifics, stating on the official Disney Parks Blog, “As we move forward with these changes, we are having creative conversations and exploring ways to preserve the film and other parts of the experience for fans to enjoy in the future.”

The Muppets will be getting a new home in Hollywood Studios by taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in a future retheming project. Disney has not yet announced when the current coaster will go down to begin the retheming process.
