A conservative political group has scheduled an unofficial event at Disneyland for Feb. 28, 2026, the same day as a previously-scheduled LGBTQ+ community event called “Mini Gay Days.”

The Santa Barbara, California-based 805 Patriots group is calling its event a “MAGA Invasion,” referring to the “Make America Great Again” slogan used by President Donald Trump and his supporters. Its website is selling merch for the event, including shirts and hoodies emblazoned with the phrases “Make Disney Great Again” and “Patriots in the Park.” The 805 Patriots Facebook said of the event, “Give Your Family A Chance To Experience Disney On A Day With As Many Like Minded Patriots Possible.”

The Feb. 28, 2026 date for the “MAGA Invasion” happens to coincide with “Mini Gay Days.” Neither event is sanctioned or organized by Disney itself. “Mini Gay Days” is affiliated with Gay Days Anaheim, a group continuing a tradition of LGBTQ+ events at Disneyland which date back to the early 1990s, while this is the first time any “MAGA Invasion” event has been planned. 

But “Mini Gay Days” isn’t being moved, according to Eddie Shapiro, producer for Gay Days Anaheim. He told Theme Park Tribune: “There are no changes to our plans. Mini Gay Day will go on as it has since 2003.” 

People magazine reported that 805 Patriots appears to welcome the possible confrontation with “Mini Gay Days” attendees — and any other park guests. 

In one post on its Facebook page, 805 Patriots said: “Turns Out I Accidentally Planned this for a GAY Day Yall Have To Come Will Be Hilarious To Ruin Their Day!!” One 805 Patriots organizer said the event’s goal is to “go have some fun by triggering as many liberals as possible” at Disneyland, according to People.

805 Patriots is discouraging attendees from bringing flags, which would be in violation of Disneyland policies. Disneyland also forbids unauthorized “speeches” and states in its park rules, “We reserve the right to prohibit any other activity that we determine may be harmful or disruptive, in our sole and absolute discretion.”

Disney policies do not directly address political attire. Theme Park Tribune has personally witnessed guests inside Disneyland wearing the same red “MAGA” hats that 805 Patriots is encouraging attendees to wear on Feb. 28. 

However, Disneyland rules also state: “We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests.”

Disneyland did not provide any comment on either event. A message to 805 Patriots’ Facebook page was not returned.
