In an unusual step for a theme park, Kings Island has publicly released statistics showing how many people rode some of its attractions during the 2023 season.

The figures — which came from a park press release — pegged Orion as the most popular ride in the park, with 1.5 million riders having stepped aboard the 287-foot-tall coaster this past year. (Orion also happens to be the newest, tallest, and fastest coaster in the park.)

Five other attractions topped the 1 million rider mark during 2023 season, the park said: The Beast, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers, The Racer and Banshee.

Kings Island’s most popular non-coaster attraction, the park said, was Boo Blasters on Boo Hill. The interactive dark ride that often sees its longest lines during the park’s Winterfest event from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve.

The Mason, Ohio park will open for the 2024 season on April 20. Its major new addition for this year will be its 15th roller coaster, a 75-foot-tall Family Boomerang coaster called Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers.
