Kings Island’s new-for-2024 Camp Snoopy area will include some portions of the current Planet Snoopy section — and that means some name changes for existing rides as part of the transition.

The Mason, Ohio park announced Wednesday that three Planet Snoopy rides will get new names as they join Camp Snoopy.

Race for Your Life Charlie Brown will become Charlie Brown’s Rushing River Log Ride. The Arrow Dynamics log flume attraction opened with Kings Island back in 1972, having been moved from Cincinnati’s Coney Island. From 2001 to 2009, the ride was known as The Wild Thornberrys River Adventure.

Flying Ace Aerial Chase will become Woodstock’s Air Rail. This Vekoma family suspended coaster opened in 2001 as Rugrats Runaway Reptar. The new name will also include a new green-and-dark-purople paint job to better match the woodsy feel of Camp Snoopy.

Woodstock’s Gliders will become Franklin’s Flyers. This Flying Scooters attraction was added in 2015. The Linus’ Launcher ride will also be redesignated as a Camp Snoopy attraction, but will keep its current name.

The biggest change coming with Camp Snoopy will be the new Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers, a 672-foot-long, 75-foot-tall Vekoma Family Boomerang roller coaster.

It’ll be the 15th coaster at Kings Island and one of two Vekoma Family Boomerangs opening in the U.S. this year, along with Holiday World’s Good Gravy.

The new coaster will be accompanied by a nature-themed play area and a section for summer camp-style activities with Peanuts characters called Beagle Scout Acres.
