Kings Island is closing Boo Blasters on Boo Hill later this year.
The Mason, Ohio park said in its announcements on X and Instagram that the interactive shooting ride’s last day of operation would be Monday, Sept. 1.

The only hint Kings Island offered at future use of the site was saying that Boo Blasters was closing “to make way for future development,” without mentioning whether that meant the building itself would be demolished or reused.
The Boo Blasters space has been home to dark rides stretching back to Kings Island’s 1972 opening, starting with Enchanted Voyage. After that attraction closed in 1983, it was followed by Smurf’s Enchanted Voyage (1984-1991), Phantom Theater (1992-2002), Scooby-Doo’s Haunted Mansion (2003-2009), and Boo Blasters, which opened in 2010. (Notably, Phantom Theater was brought back as a temporary stage show in 2023.)
Other Boo Blasters attractions will remain operating in three other Six Flags parks: Carowinds, Canada’s Wonderland and Kings Dominion.
