Kings Dominion has posted new signs teasing its next roller coaster.

Multiple social media accounts which post updates from the Doswell, Virginia park noted that construction walls in the Jungle X-Pedition section are now hyping a new attraction that will open in 2025.

The area has been widely suspected to be getting a new coaster in the coming years, making use of the plot left vacant by Volcano: The Blast Coaster. The beloved Intamin inverted launch coaster, based in and around a faux mountain, last operated in 2018 and was torn down the following year.

Kings Dominion has posted new teasers for a 2025 roller coaster just as coaster track has begun arriving on-site. — which, along with its sister site, has a stellar record of scoops on new rides coming to Virginia’s two big parks — reported back in December 2023 that the Volcano replacement would be a launched wing coaster built by the legendary Swiss coaster firm Bolliger and Mabillard.

The new photos provide yet more evidence for’s reporting, as the coaster track matches that of other B&M wings like Thunderbird at Holiday World.

Kings Dominion’s last coaster addition was also in Jungle X-Pedition, with 2022’s Tumbili. The park currently sports 13 coasters in all, only one of which was built by B&M: Dominator, a floorless model which opened at Ohio’s Geauga Lake in 2000 and was moved to Kings Dominion in 2008.
