One year after the annual holiday events at Six Flags Great Adventure and Six Flags Over Georgia were axed, the parks are bringing it back.

Six Flags announced Tuesday morning that Holiday in the Park will return for 2026 “reimagined, redesigned and more magical than ever” at both the Jackson, New Jersey and Austell, Georgia parks.

In a statement, Six Flags CEO John Reilly suggested the events’ return was at least partially due to fan feedback after they were not held in 2025.

“We heard our guests loud and clear,” Reilly said. “Holiday in the Park has long been a cornerstone event at these properties, and we’ve taken everything we’ve learned to thoughtfully evolve the experience. This brand-new Holiday in the Park captures the heart and wonder of the season while maximizing the warmth of the day for rides and entertainment and offering plenty of cozy ways for guests to warm up. This is a more intentional, more magical holiday celebration—designed to delight all generations.”

At the time that Six Flags canceled the event last July, a Great Adventure spokesperson told NJ Advance Media the park had “strategic decision to focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences during our core operating season — spring through fall.” Reilly was not yet with Six Flags when the event was taken off the calendar, as he took over the president and CEO roles in December.

Six Flags’ press release promised that the 2026 holiday events would include “more live entertainment than ever before,” including holiday carolers and live music. It also teased “a family-friendly indoor walk-through attraction,” something that had not been featured at previous Holiday in the Park events.

Exact dates, show details, and information on what rides will be available during Holiday in the Park events will be announced later in the year.
