“Harry Potter” will be a part of the Fan Fest Nights after-hours event coming to Universal Studios Hollywood next year.
Universal first announced the spring 2025 Fan Fest Nights event, initially revealing that the event will include experiences themed around “Star Trek,” “Back to the Future,” and the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. Universal clarified in an email to Theme Park Tribune that all the franchises will be a part of the event nights, similar to how intellectual properties are used throughout Halloween Horror Nights rather than each being the star of its own separate event.
Few details were offered beyond the promise of new and “immersive” offerings. The “Harry Potter” reveal is similarly light on specifics, as Universal only said in a social media post that, “Magical creatures and more experiences await, including a new Niffler encounter.”

While the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the obvious draw to Universal parks for “Potter” fans, Universal parks have held other special events based around the franchise. Universal Orlando hosted the Celebration of Harry Potter events annually from 2014 to 2018, and Universal Studios Japan offered a limited-run “Magical Creatures Encounter” in its version of the Wizarding World last March.
No specific dates or ticket prices have been announced for any of the Fan Fest Nights. In fact, besides the mention of a Niffler encounter for the “Potter” event, only the “Star Trek” Fan Fest offerings have been given a shred of detail.
The Universal Hollywood page about Fan Fest Nights includes one sentence below the “Star Trek” logo: “Boldly go on an immersive Star Trek adventure aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise-D.”
The Enterprise-D is the setting for “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” signaling that Universal’s “Star Trek” event may focus on that era of the franchise and the 1987-1994 TV series.
Correction: The original version of this article inaccurately described Universal’s Fan Fest Nights as being as series separate events themed to individual franchises. Universal has since clarified that the franchises mentioned will be featured together at every Fan Fest Night event, similar to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights.
