Universal Orlando guests using the park’s Express pass won’t be able to get around long lines at the new Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.

The new “Harry Potter”-themed storytelling coaster is set to officially open June 13 and Universal has confirmed it will be excluded from Express.

“When the attraction first opens it will not have Express pass,” Universal Orlando spokesperson Hailey Fitch told Orlando Rising.

The attraction will also feature a single-rider line.

Instead, the ride will be the first in Islands of Adventure to offer Universal’s Virtual Line, a reservation system similar to Disney World’s FastPass system with the exception that it only be reserved once guests are physically in the park. Starting June 14, guests may be asked to reserve a ride time through Universal’s official smartphone app. Unlike FastPass, a wait time specifically for the Virtual Line queue will be displayed at the coaster’s entrance in Hogsmeade.

The attraction, set in the Forbidden Forest and starring a cast of animatronic Wizarding World creatures, has been in previews for Universal employees. For the official debut on Thursday, Universal has said it may allow guests in the park before its 9 a.m. opening.

“Universal’s Islands of Adventure may open earlier than scheduled so that you can begin queueing for the new experience,” Universal said in a blog post. “We’ll have dedicated team members stationed throughout the line to assist you and answer any questions you have.”

Editor’s Note: This story was updated on June 13, 2019 with new information about the single-rider line and availability of Virtual Line for the attraction.
