Universal Orlando is adding more preview dates for its new Epic Universe theme park.
Previously scheduled to run through May 8, preview dates are now available every day until May 19 — just three days before the park’s scheduled grand opening on May 22. (Universal says on its website that the park will not be open on May 20 and 21 to prepare for the opening.)
The operating hours at Epic Universe will be shifting for these new preview dates. The park will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. through May 8, then shift to a 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. schedule from May 9-14, and then change again to 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. through May 19.
Ticket prices for the new preview dates also vary between $123 and $131 per person. The previews are not open to everyone; to buy tickets, you’ll have to be an Universal Orlando annual passholder, have an active 2025 Military Freedom Pass Ticket Holders or Universal Rewards Signature VISA Card, or be staying at an Universal Orlando hotel. (Theme Park Tribune attended two days of previews on April 18 and 19. You can read our first impression review from that visit here.)
If you’re looking to experience Epic Universe before its grand opening, the previews may offer lighter crowds in exchange for risking some attractions not being available.
Tom Bricker of the Disney Tourist Blog estimated that Universal is capping Epic Universe attendance at 15,000 people per day — less than half its estimated 40,000-person capacity —though Universal may raise that cap in later preview dates to prepare the opening for the larger crowds expected following the grand opening.
