Even with recent room upgrades, Walt Disney World’s value resorts are really stretching the meaning of “value.”

Disney World’s new policies have made staying on-site more necessary than before the pandemic, with resort guests into each park 30 minutes earlier than off-site visitors and earlier access to book Genie+ ride reservations. So rather than seek out dangerously cheap hotel deals off Disney property for my July 2022 visit, I coughed up $175 per night.

That’s more than double what I’ve paid in recent years for other value resorts. I got essentially the same room as that you may have seen at Pop Century, as All-Star Music rooms have given a nearly-identical overhaul.
