Following up on the success of Disney After Hours events at the Magic Kingdom, Disney World will now give guests three extra hours in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom — for an extra fee.

The cost for this extra time in the park is $125 when purchased in advance, $129 on the day of the event and $95 for Disney Vacation Club members and Disney World Annual Passholders. In exchange, guests get much shorter waits for attractions and character meet-and-greets through 1 a.m. because Disney strictly limits how many After Hours tickets are sold.

“You can even enter the park early — at 7 p.m. on your event night — before Disney After Hours begins,” Walt Disney World editorial content manager Jennifer Fickley-Baker wrote on the Disney Parks Blog. “Ice cream, popcorn and select beverages are also included in your Disney After Hours admission, which is a separately priced ticket from daytime park admission.”

Event nights will be:

  • Magic Kingdom: Nov. 26; Dec. 3 and 10; Jan. 7, 17, 24 and 28; Feb. 7, 14, and 28; and March 7
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Dec. 8, 15, and 22; Jan. 5, 12, and 19; Feb. 2, 9, and 16, March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; and April 6 and 13
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Dec. 4, 12 and 18; Jan. 8, 16, 22 and 31; Feb. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 26; March 5, 20 and 27; and April 3

Not all of a park’s attractions will be open. In the Magic Kingdom, for example, the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland has typically been closed on After Hours nights, just as it is during the park’s Halloween and Christmas events.

For the two parks new to After Hours, Disney only named a few rides which would be in operation. Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, Toy Story Mania, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror will be open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For Animal Kingdom, the two Avatar attractions and the Tree of Life Awakenings projection show will be available.

The list of attractions may be especially limited at Animal Kingdom. The park’s animal-centric experiences typically close earlier in the day. Maharajah Jungle Trek shuts down at 4:45 p.m. and Kilimanjaro Safaris, one of the park’s headlining attractions, usually ends its day at 6:15 p.m. Both are scheduled to close at those times on December 4, the first scheduled After Hours event at the park.
